SHARE believes in the potential of people and the contribution that we as citizens can make to the country, through the success of individual ventures and the improvement in the living conditions of its clients and their families. For this purpose, it offers comprehensive, responsible and timely Loans to more than 22 thousand women and 13 thousand men in Guatemala.
Its clients are 12,000 farmers in the country who have access to microfinance products created especially for their investment needs. The organization has a 2.71% PAR 30 for this line of investment, exceeding the industry average. It also contributes with substantial efforts to support rural economic growth with up to 26 thousand clients residing in rural areas of 9 Departments of the country through 28 agencies.
It also continues its work in Support for the Education of Girls and Boys, improving access to elementary, middle and high school education, strengthening the national system due to its experience with Education Support Programs. During the years 2019 and 2020 the School Scholarship Project continued, with the great support of one of its most appreciated partners, the North American supermarket chain TARGET, achieving 360 full scholarships. Since its foundation SHARE Association has been a dynamic organization constantly changing and adapting to the prevailing situations in the country and to address the most critical needs for social and economic development in Guatemala. This work is done with a perspective that offers appropriate investment returns according to the risk acquired, with a greater social impact compared to conventional investments in the financial industry. The Strategic Plan 2017 - 2021 proposes the creation of an organization that will be in charge of the financial actions developed by SHARE Association, and for this purpose a savings and loans cooperative, SHARE R.L., was created, which proposes to expand the services, bring them to more people to deepen the market and work for a greater financial inclusion.
SHARE also works to promote cultural exchange through powerful experiences between host communities and visitors, to inspire them to take action to improve their lives and society, through several activities and projects in Guatemala through SHARE ToursDuring 2019, 19 projects were developed, led by university students from different parts of the world, due to partnerships with universities of: Kansas State University, Emlyon University, University of Wisconsin Madison and Universidad Rafael Landívar of Guatemala.
